Oreo Cream Cheese Blondies
These took a little work, but not much more than what I’m used to.  Totally awesome bars.  I found this recipe at bakerstreet and when I saw the words “Oreo” and “Cream Cheese” I knew I had to try this.  Major ooey, gooey goodness here.  I photographed mine while it was still pretty warm (hence the lopsidedness) but it was sooo good. Here’s how mine turned...

Cinnamon Caramel Pecan Bread
I found this recipe online at Plain Chicken.  Quick and easy pull-aparts.  What an easy dessert/treat recipe!  Prep time about 5 minutes, bake time about 18-20 minutes. The original recipe called for chopped pecans, but I had mixed unsalted nuts and used those instead.  Here’s how mine turned out! [[MORE]] Ingredients: 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls 3/4 stick butter, melted 1/2 cup...

Mom's Southern Chicken & Dumplings
My mom spent most of her time in the kitchen, which probably explains why almost all of our pictures of her has her standing in the kitchen, cooking or cleaning.  I owe this recipe to her.  I grew up eating this simple dish.  It’s comfort food for me, especially since mom is no longer with us.  I try to follow her recipe as close as possible, but like most of her cooking, it was usually...

Chicken Parmesan Stuffed Crescent
I originally found this recipe at Plain Chicken but instead of creating individual crescents, I made one large stuffed braided crescent.  Quick and super easy.  Prep time about ten minutes, baking time about 18 minutes.  Here’s how mine turned out. [[MORE]] Ingredients: 1 bag pre-cooked breaded chicken tenders (about 8, thawed) 2 cans crescent rolls 2 cups mozzarella cheese grated...

Garlic Cheddar Biscuits (Red Lobster)
I love Red Lobster biscuits!  Buttery, garlicky and cheddary.  Awesomeness.  I like Red Lobster although I’m not a fan of lobster itself (I can, however, put some shrimp away). But when I do go to Red Lobster, I’m really there for their endless biscuits anyway. I found this recipe online at abcnews.com.  Simple and quick, my favorite combo. I modified the original recipe adding more...

Nutella Cupcakes
Nutella is just awesome.  It’s sweet, versatile and works great as a frosting.  I found this recipe online for “self frosting” cupcakes. [[MORE]] Drop a teaspoon of Nutella (or store brand hazelnut spread) on top of your favorite cake mix prior to baking.  Use a toothpick to “stir and swirl” the Nutella into the batter. Bake according to the cake mix...

Biscuit "Muffins"
I found this recipe online (somewhere) and have made different variations.  Here’s my version of “the works”!  I love bacon, sausage and ham in mine, but you can use just ham, or anything you like, whatever floats your boat! Great for breakfast, lunch or anytime. [[MORE]] Ingredients: 1 can buttermilk biscuits (10 biscuits) 1 egg, beaten 4 slices sandwich ham 4 slices...

Bread Pudding
I grew up in Southwest Louisiana and bread pudding was its own food group.  Prep time takes about five minutes, baking time around a total of 45 minutes. [[MORE]] Ingredients: Day old french bread loaf (or fresh, cut into pieces, about 3 cups, loose) 5 large eggs 3 Tablespoons ground cinnamon 2 Tablespoons vanilla (imitation is fine) 2 Tablespoons white granulated sugar 1 cup dark brown...

Lasagna Rollups
I originally found this recipe online at Budget Bytes.  It’s a simple roll-up lasagna that’s inexpensive and easy that works as a great side dish or main course.  Here’s how mine turned out. [[MORE]] Ingredients: 14  lasagna noodles 15 oz. ricotta cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella 1/4 cup grated parmesan 1 large egg 10 oz. frozen spinach (thawed) 2.5 cups marinara...

Broccoli Cheddar Chicken Crescent
I was surprised at how good this tasted considering the simple ingredients.  I originally found this recipe online at foodfamilyfinds.  Here’s how mine turned out. [[MORE]] 2 cans Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls 4 chicken tenderloins, cooked and chunked 2 cups cheddar cheese 2 cups broccoli, frozen, steamed and chopped 1/2 cup light mayonnaise fresh rosemary (optional) I actually...

Crawfish Stuffed Garlic Bread
Originally found this recipe online at Louisiana Cookin’.  I slightly modified the recipe for my taste.  Since I’m originally from Louisiana, and it had been a while since I’ve had crawfish, I figured I’d give this one a try.  The original recipe called for celery and dry mustard but since I was completely out of celery (and I don’t have dry mustard), I just used...

Giving it a try...
I don’t always cook, but when I do, I like it to be fairly simple and taste good. I enjoy trying new things, especially when it’s easy and the prep time is short. I’m no Paula Deen, you won’t find a pound of butter in everything I concoct. It may not always be the healthiest thing, but it will taste pretty darned good, or at least I think so! I like to try new things...
